Hello everyone and thanks…

Hello, I just wanted to write a quick post welcoming all of the new visitors I have checking out the brewbasement website and feed. I consider it an honor to have anybody reading my posts at all, and I thank each and every one of you for stopping by.
I have some pretty cool stuff in the works for this site (at least it’s cool stuff for a beer geek like me), and I hope you keep coming back over the next few months. Some of the things that will be going on are:
- A start to my series of experiments, where I’ll be trying to shed light on some disputed or murky areas of beer aging.
- The introduction to an ongoing interview series where I’ll be talking to researchers, brewers, and enthusiasts about various aspects of the cellaring hobby.
- The continuation of my Beer Cellar Science series, where I digest information from relevant scientific journals and papers to give the most up-to-date info about the science behind the beer aging process
- My beer spotlight series has already commenced with my last post on Thomas Hardy’s Ale. I’ll be examining a particular beer, style, or brewery and how it fits into the cellaring hobby.
Of course I’ll be continuing my reviews, which I consider the backbone of the site. Every beer I review will be tried at least five times. After the initial tasting, I will revisit the beer after a period of aging, typically at 6 months, 1 year, 2 year, and 3 year intervals. I hope to eventually build up a reliable source of information on what beers will age well and for how long.
Please feel free to drop me a line and let me know how I’m doing, and I’d love to see any of your comments on the articles I’m posting.
Thanks again for coming!
Jason
