February’s Final Tastings - Rogue, Flying Dog, Allagash, Lindemans, Stone

If there’s one thing I learned after this February, it’s this: I bought a hell of a lot of beer last summer! Here’s the last of my six month tastings for February. On to March!

Stone 7/7/7 - Holding up great so far! A nice spicy bite and some slightly sweet biscuit malt is matched up with an array of citrus flavors.

Allagash Grand Cru - The prevelent spices don’t seem to have faded at all. I’m loving the balance between the fruity esters and the sweet malty base. I do believe it’s a bit creamier then it was six months ago.

Lindemans Kriek Lambic - Lambic beers have a reputation for lasting for years and years, and I certainly can believe that now. This beer tastes more or less exactly the same as it did last summer.

Flying Dog Gonzo Imperial Porter - Still a tasty beverage, but flavors (especially the hops) are fading quite a bit. Not nearly as complex as when fresh.

Rogue Chocolate Stout - Another somewhat faded brew, the chocolate taste was still there, but a bit reserved. Not much of a malt presence, perhaps a bit of a roasted caramel flavor. Hops are still there at the end, as is the slightest bit of an oxidized papery taste.

As always, thanks for reading!
