2008 Old Stock Ale On The Shelves

” ..Old Stock Ale is well-designed to round-out and mellow with age. We know it’s hard to believe that this exquisite beer can actually improve, but trust us. The waiting can be an excellent exercise in self-discipline and the reward is built in… …We suggest a year’s cellaring to let the complex flavors develop, but the longer you wait, the greater the drinking enjoyment” - From the 2008 Old Stock Ale four-pack holders
Taking a quick break from my smoke-related articles to come in with a quick reminder for you all. It’s time to start looking for this years version of North Coast’s Old Stock Ale at your local beverage mart. This year’s version comes in at a hefty 11.7% ABV, higher then most barleywines.
I’ve just picked up a couple of four packs for myself. I loved the Old Stock 2007 vintage, so I can’t wait to try this one. Watch for a comparison between the two vintages sometime next week.
